Christine Ko: [00:00:00] Hi, and welcome back to the Girl Doc Survival Guide. It's summer and somewhat related to that, this episode is short and sweet. As part of thriving. I wanted to share that I just went on a girl's vacation to Italy with my sister and my daughter. It was my sister's graduation gift to her niece. They invited me along. We flew into Rome, took a Backroads bike trip through Tuscany from Azo, and ended in Florence. Saw Sundials from the past, water fountains supplied by the ancient Roman aqueduct with super cold water, churches filled with beauty, the amazing Val d'Orcia, the orderly and not so orderly streets of Florence, and of course, artwork by the incomparable Michelangelo. I haven't normally been sharing any of the trips or family activities that I do, but I wanted to talk about this trip because it felt so renewing to me because of three main things, and I highly recommend such a vacation sooner rather than later if it works for you.
First thing, my sister planned the entire thing. I [00:01:00] didn't lift a finger. Second thing, I had never been to Italy or on a bike trip. And third, the right amount of activity. Such that I completely forgot about work and my "normal life". So if possible, I highly recommend that doctors and moms and parents go on a vacation planned by someone else to a place you have never been, and with the right amount of activity for you.
Happy summer!
